Support

One inbox, answered by the person who built it: hello@compsdesk.com

If a figure does not match its cited filing, we want to hear about it.

Send the ticker, the metric and the cell. We verify against the source and, if we are wrong, correct the warehouse and reissue any affected pack free. That is the whole corrections policy — there is no form.

Access & your console

Where is my console?

Every subscription email links straight to your console — the link opens you in, signed in, because the access token rides in the URL itself. From there you can see your plan and renewal date, copy the same token the Excel add-in uses, and cancel in one click.

I've lost my access link, or it's expired.

Open account.html with no link at all — it recognises that and shows a box to have your current link emailed again, to the address your subscription is under. Nothing to remember, nothing to reset, and it works the same whether the old link was lost or a renewal has simply replaced it.

The Excel add-in

Installing it.

The add-in is one small manifest file — download it from compsdesk.com/excel/manifest.xml. In Excel, open Insert → My Add-ins → Upload My Add-in (in Excel on the web: Insert → Office Add-ins → Upload My Add-in), choose the file, and a CompsDesk button appears on the Home tab. Open the pane, paste the token from your subscription email, and =CD.GET("AAPL","Revenues") works — along with =CD.SOURCE, =CD.PEERS, =CD.COHORT and =CD.MULTIPLE. Nothing else is installed: it is a web add-in served from this domain, on Excel for Windows, Mac and the web.

Every formula returns #N/A with "No CompsDesk token".

The add-in has not been given your token yet. Open Home → CompsDesk to show the pane and paste the token from your subscription email, or copy it fresh from your console. It is stored in the workbook where Office allows it, so it travels with the file, and in browser storage otherwise.

"CompsDesk rejected this token."

The token has expired or been revoked. Subscriptions issue a fresh token on renewal — copy the current one from your console (no link handy? open that same page anyway — it has a box to have your access link emailed again). If your subscription is current and it still fails, email us and we will reissue within the day.

A formula returns #N/A with "not disclosed".

That is an answer, not a fault. The filer did not tag that concept for that period, and CompsDesk will not estimate one. #N/A is deliberate: a zero would sum silently into a total and misstate it. It does break a plain =MEDIAN over the range — roll up with =AGGREGATE(12,6,range), the median that ignores error cells, or let =CD.COHORT return n, p25, median and p75 for the whole cohort in one formula.

"Rate limit reached for your plan."

A subscription allows 600 requests per hour. A sheet recalculating hundreds of cells at once can reach it. Wait a moment and press F9. If you hit it routinely, email us; it usually means a higher plan or a different sheet layout.

Multiples

Why do I have to supply the share price?

Because we will not resell market data. Redistributing quotes inside a subscription is a licensing problem we are not going to hand you, and a bought-in quote is the one number in this product that could not be traced to a filing. You already have prices; what you do not have is period-aligned, tag-cited EBITDA and net debt for twelve peers. We supply that.

EV/EBITDA comes back #N/A for a large company.

Some filers — including several of the largest pharmaceutical companies — publish no operating income subtotal at all, so EBITDA has nothing to build on. We could assemble one from component lines, but in exactly those filings the components do not foot, and the result would be wrong by tens of percent in a valuation. The response says which input is missing, and the /comps endpoint reports coverage per multiple so you can see it while choosing the cohort rather than afterwards.

Coverage

A ticker I need is not covered.

Tell us which one. Coverage is derived from what is actually computable — a company with a ticker, a SIC code, positive revenue and all six core metrics across three fiscal years. Banks, insurers and REITs are not in that universe, and the reason is not that we hold nothing for them: this metric set does not describe them, so each has a metric family of its own — its own measures, its own coverage file, its own admission bar — and is counted there rather than here. A REIT is never a peer in an operating cohort and no statistic we publish spans two families. Family packs are not orderable from the build picker yet; if that is what you need, write in and we will tell you what we hold and which measures we refuse to compute for it. Listings too recent to have three fiscal years of history are outside the universe as well. If a name is missing that should not be, that is a defect and we want it.

Billing

Refunds.

14 days, if a pack materially misstates its cited sources. Email us — we do not argue about it.
